COOTSTORY
Founders and couple, Rhi and Ben, have always swam together but got fed up of not being able to find swimwear that swam well and looked cool.
An enforced brainstorming session whilst sheltering from the rain on holiday in Porto, sparked the idea to start their own independent performance swimwear brand.
A couple of years of planning and research followed whilst they figured out what would be important values for the brand such as local production, consciously sourced raw materials and story telling.
Taking inspiration from swimming, its heritage and community, the first collection launched in 2021. COOTS aka Crawled Out Of The Sea was born.

Our swimwear is expertly constructed from a regenerated nylon (ECONYL®) made from rescued waste that would otherwise pollute our Earth and Oceans. Where possible we always use recycled and recyclable trim (e.g. zips, elastic, cord)
FACTORY
We work with a zero-waste factory based in East London who exceed in industry requirements with higher wages and world-class working conditions. We keep our whole production process within a 7 mile radius!
PACKAGING
Our packaging including mailer, hang tag, stickers and packaging tape are all plastic free, recycled and recyclable. Our suits also come with a reusable eco-friendly bamboo towelling bag.
EMBROIDERY
All embroidery on the suits is done in house at COOTS HQ.
Embroidering on stretch fabric is a very specialist skill but the payoff is that you get long lasting branding and do not have to use additional plastic. It also looks sick!
