The monthly reminder to put down our phones and laptops and go do some bits that are good for the mind, body and soul. Here’s a few ideas to help switch off and you know, enjoy yourself.
SWITCH OFF AND GO SWIMMING
Not been back in the cold water this year yet? The Crisis Icebreaker is the perfect chance to get back in. A real community event helping to end homelessness.
Enter for the solo dip or a team relay for ultimate fun times. Bring the layers!

SWITCH OFF AND GO DANCE
Ths week is Independent Venue Week (IVW) so get out and go have a dance in an independent venue. Check IVW’s website to find one near you.
Our pick is Girls of the Internet Sound System at the iconic Moth club in Hackney this Saturday. Expect groovy disco house from the 5 piece UK collective.
SWITCH OFF AND GO COOK IT UP
You might know Matty Matheson from The Bear. Even though he is banned from the kitchen in the show, he is the only cast member who is a real life chef.
His cooking show ‘Just a Dash’ (Netflix/Youtube) is jokes. We’ve been enjoying his Thai Larb recipe. Quick, easy, heathly and absolutely banging. Chef’s kiss.
SWITCH OFF AND GO READ A BOOK
The perfectly named artist Chris Packet has collated the best crisp packet designs from a 30 year golden era. Published by the legendary Sports Banger.
All mad graphics and bright colours. Spice Girl crips anyone?!
It takes us back to Loughton pool circa 1994. Standing at the vending machine choosing the perfect post swim snack.
SWITCH OFF AND GO FIND TREASURE
it’s amazing what you can find on the banks of Thames...when the tide goes out, the mudlarks descend on the hunt for treasure.
The Secrets of the Thames exhibition at London Museum (Docklands) features over 350 mudlarked objects from historical relics to someone’s fake eye (!). A real glmpse into old Londinium.
Right we're switching off - see you on the other side and...
SEE YOU IN THE WATER.
