This weekend we will be flying the COOTS flag high at Worthy Farm for our first ever Glastonbury (we are absolutely buzzing).
The closest we'll get to swimming on the Farm is sticking our head under the water tap to wake us up after partying all day and all night but it got us thinking - what are the best music festivals where you can take a dip. Tbf the 'festival shower' does work wonders but imagine if you could plunge into cool water and have a refreshing swim - you'd emerge a new person ready to rave on.
Love music? Love dancing? Love swimming? We got you. Here are our Top 5 Music Festivals To Swim At...
WHEN: 14 -17 Aug 2025
WHERE: Wimborne St Giles, Dorset
WHO: Michael Kiwanuka / Kokoroko / MJ Cole / Ben UFO / Emma-Jean Thackery
Curated by the legend Gilles Peterson so you know you are in good hands - the best soul, hip hop, house, afro, electronica, jazz and everything in between. A couple of years ago we had the pleasure of rolling with Swim Dem Crew who hosted morning swims at the festival's lake. Seriously the best start to the day - dive into the lake, have a swim and chat about who you're going to catch on that day's line-up with your new mates . The whole wellness area called the sanctuary is a vibe with yoga, hot tubs, paddleboarding all set to soothing ambient sounds. One for the heads!
WHEN: 15 - 17 Aug 2025
WHERE: Stowe, Buckinghamshire
WHO: Derrick Carter / Dr Banana / Jungle / Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 / The Wailers
This festival started out as a party for close friends now in its 4th year it has evolved into a 3-day extravaganza. Out in Bucks countryside you’ll be shaking a leg in acres of ancient woodlands and diving into the onsite swimming lake. They’ve really nailed the wellness area with yoga, hot tubs, ice baths, sound baths, facials and massages - just remember to go and dance to some music because the line up is a banger.
WHEN: 3 - 7 July 2025
WHO: Dillinja / Jamz Supernova / Osunlade / OK Williams / Romare
Sadly TLC aren't playing but we guarantee you will be chasing waterfalls as this festival only bloody has one! Set in a natural glen on Scotland's West Coast, the waterfall and pool is perfect for a little dip. They are even opening up the waterfall for some visual experimentation - trippy sh*t. All accompanied by a stellar electronic lineup.
WHEN: 24 - 27 July 2025
WHERE: Henham Park, Suffolk
WHO: Basement Jaxx / Maribou State / Leon Bridges / Lapsely / Sorry
Been going for almost 20 years and still going strong. Probably the most diverse festival on our list with 4 days of music, comedy, theatre, poetry, dance, literature, wellness, food and a huge programme for children of all ages. SwimTrek are running the swimming lake so you know you are in safe hands. Dive in for Adventure and Twilight 2km swims led by SwimTrek’s guides or even take part in a Coaching Clinics to brush up on your tekkers. So if Kaiser Chiefs are doing your head in you know where to go.
WHEN: 31 July - 3 Aug 2025
WHERE: Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire
WHO: Supergrass / Rosie Lowe / Confidence Man / Afriquoi / Orbital
Dubbed the UK’s poshest festival, you’ll be sipping champagne and celeb spotting on this 5,000 acre estate. When it all gets too much take yourself off to the Lakeside Spa, to ‘balance yourself’ in a crystal clear swimming lake, wood-fired hot tubs and saunas. It does look dreamy tbf. They’ve even got a Wim Hof Method workshop for all you cold water heads. The line up is absolutely massive so there’s definitely something for everyone on that front - Orbital mainstage is sure to go off.
Pack up your tents and your tinnies, get ready to dance in a field and we'll...
SEE YOU IN THE WATER.
